We’re thrilled to partner with renowned artist Dick Termes of Spearfish, SD, for a night of creativity, inspiration, and entertainment. Join us on May 9, 2025, at 6:30 PM at The Custer Beacon (351 Washington St., Custer, SD) for an enriching celebration of artistry and community.

Celebrate the residency of Farah Siraj at a FREE open concert PRESENTED BY CHAUTAUQUA CRAFTSMEN & ARTISANS OF THE BLACK HILLS at Hot Springs Mueller Civic Center, Sunday, May 4, 2:30 PM

Farah Siraj is scheduled to present a full week of public events in Hot Springs AND CUSTER, SD - April 28-May 4, including events at the Pine Hills Retirement Community, The Space, and the Chautauqua Artisans Market.

Named Jordan’s Musical Ambassadress, Farah Siraj balances a career that spans the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. As a humanitarian, Farah focuses on raising awareness about the consequences of war and violence, and advocates for women’s rights, refugee rights and animal rights.

Elders’ Wisdom
Children’s Song Project

This winter, both Custer Elementary and Hermosa Schools held their annual events celebrating the rich tradition of the Elders’ Wisdom, Children’s Song Project.

​

Custer Elementary honored Joyce Hand and Jim Coates, while Hermosa School recognized Linda Hasselstrom and Jim Kelly for their contributions to the project.

​
